Description

The Scalpel Short Action by Surgeon Rifles delivers supreme long-range accuracy and comes equipped with exclusive features that lesser rifles fail to include. The Scalpel is built around the proven 591 action, which is renowned for its strength and accuracy. This action features a shrouded, side-mounted bolt stop to prevent accidental releasing of the bolt, and an anti-jam rail in the middle of the raceway prevents cartridges from lodging when single rounds are loaded through the ejection port. The 591 action also features an integrated 20 MOA picatinny rail that runs the length of the action, as well as a built-in recoil lug. Combining the recoil lug into the action increases the tenon length, and thus strengthens the entire free-floated system. The Scalpel is also outfitted with a MAGPUL PRO stock, the stock can be folded for easier storage and transportation, and is also fully adjustable for cheek height and length of pull. Other features of the Scalpel include a Heavy Palma barrel, a Trigger Tech trigger, and a second picatinny rail on the front section of the fore-grip for the installation of a bipod.
